# How far ahead can a channel sync?

> Up to 180 days. Pick it in 30-day steps (30, 60, 90, 120, 150, 180) and inventory and rates sync to the sales channel for that far out.

  **What happens if I shorten the sync window?**

  Bookings, inventory, and rates stop syncing for dates beyond the shortened window. Manage those dates on the channel directly from then on.

  **What happens if I extend it?**

  On some sales channels, packages that have no rate or inventory set yet can appear as available to book. Get those settings in place first, in line with how you operate.
